The Volunteer Committee facilitates connecting LWHRA members with a variety of chapter volunteer opportunities throughout the year for the purpose of enhancing the member experience.

The Volunteer Committee supports the LWHRA mission of Connect, Grow, Serve by:

  • Connect – connecting members with like-minded HR professionals to increase their network 
  • Grow - grow and expand member’s skills and experience 
  • Serve - provide opportunities for members to give back their time and talent

What we do:

  • We work with potential volunteers and help identify their experience, passion, and strengths then match their interests with the appropriate committee.
  • We host a Volunteer Connections Table at chapter meetings to welcome, connect, and recruit volunteers. Members who are interested in volunteering can get more information and talk with various committee representatives about the mission of their committee.
  • We host a Volunteer Appreciation Event to recognize and thank volunteers who have served throughout the year.
  • We maintain a database of current volunteers that includes contact information, as well as volunteer interests.
  • We recognize volunteers at every chapter meeting by differentiating their name badges from other attendees’ badges.

How you can help:
Be willing to serve by committing to as little as 2 - 4 hours a month!

Volunteer Committee Member opportunities include:

  • Attend quarterly committee meetings.
  • Respond to volunteer interest submissions and facilitate introductions between potential volunteers and committee chairs.
  • Participate in networking/marketing efforts to broaden our reach and increase volunteer interest.
  • Take an active interest in our chapter’s many volunteer opportunities.
